Lets Get Flowing

We are electric. we are beings of light and energy. We have lines of energy running through our body called meridians. When our energy gets blocked we experience stagnation.  Blocked energy can manifest as pain, lack of function, illness or even mental imbalances. Chinese medicine is over 3000 years old and is based on two opposing principles, Yin and Yang. When they are in balance the body will be healthy. If out of balance one can experience different levels of dis-ease.

Acupuncture  can help to improve the body’s function to restore its natural flow and harmony. If water is blocked by a dam it cannot flow. Acupuncture works to open the blocked pathways(meridians) and let the Qi flow freely. The life force in the body is known as Qi/Chi. Acupuncture is applied by inserting fine sterile needles into the skin at certain points and anatomical locations that have been mapped out. Health is the result of smooth flow of qi and blood in the body.

Through acupuncture points, meridians and energy centers can be accessed and harmonized. From a neuroscience perspective Acupuncture points are places where nerves, muscles and connective tissue can be stimulated. It increases the natural production of endorphins which are the bodies natural painkillers and invokes the body’s natural healing response through various physiological functions.

Acupuncture benefits the nervous system, endocrine and immune systems , the cardiovascular and digestive system.

The practice of Chinese Medicine includes herbal treatment, electro stimulation, micro current, moxabustion, cupping and Tui Na massage therapy. Primarily in western thought acupuncture is beneficial for pain relief and sports medicine . Cupping, which is part of the practice of Chinese Medicine, became very popular at the last Olympic games when all of the swimmers received cupping. but it doesn’t stop there. Acupuncture is great for menstrual irregularities, menopause, infertility, chronic headaches, allergies, hypertension, depression, osteoarthritis and the list goes on.

The best news is that acupuncture is great for preventative care. You cannot measure the tumors you never got because you received acupuncture. So get in the flow and get your qi balanced and harmonized. Go see your favorite Acupuncturist!
